What is Eutrophication?

Eutrophication is a process by which a pond has a bloom of algae that blocks the light from the natural pond plants.  It often happends when fertilizer is washed into a pond or lake (water pollution).

What are CFCs?

CFCs are Chlorofluorocarbons.  They are gases from air conditioners and refrigerators that are harmful to the ozone layer.

The largest living thing is the "honey mushroom" fungus.  It can be found in Eastern Oregon.  It is 3.5 miles across, and grows mostly underground.

What is a yazoo?

A yazoo is a tributary stream that flows parallel to the main river and is prevented from flowing into the main river due to high banks, until it meets an entry spot to flow into the river.  This effect is named after the Yazoo River in Mississippi that is parallel to the Mississippi River.
